Good Beer Guide Celebrates ‘Golden Era’
News: September 2011
The Campaign for Real Ale’s 2012 Good Beer Guide has discovered that 99 new breweries have opened during the last 12 months in the UK. In what it describes as a ‘golden era’, the book reports that the total number of breweries in Britain has now reached 840 and that, despite ongoing pub industry issues such as supermarket competition, planning concerns and the domination of large pub companies, customers are ‘spoilt for choice’ when deciding to go for a pint. The book features 4,500 pubs selling top quality cask-conditioned ale and retails at £15.99. Copies are on sale via CAMRA, high street bookstores and online retailers such as amazon |
