The world has a new Trappist beer.

The first beer from Abbaye de Mont des Cats, in the north of France, was launched this month. However, the 7.6%, bottle-conditioned amber ale is currently being produced by Scourmont abbey in Belgium, home of Chimay beers. Mont des Cats’ own brewery closed early in the 20th century.

There remain only seven Trappist monasteries – six in Belgium and one in the Netherlands – that currently brew.
