Famous Belgian Wheat Beer Returns
News: April 2011
Dentergems witbier, once a rival to the omnipresent Hoegaarden, is now back in production. The 5% ABV cloudy wheat beer was created by the Riva brewery in the Belgian village of Dentergem. Riva was then taken over by Liefmans, which fell into liquidation in 2007. The company was subsequently purchased by Duvel Moortgat, but the brand remained lost. Now Dentergems has been acquired by Mechelen-based brewer Het Anker, famous for its Gouden Carolus beers, and the witbier is back on sale. |
