Famous Cornish Inn Destroyed by Fire
News: March 2011
Fire has ravaged The Pandora Inn, the ancient waterside pub on Restronguet Creek, Cornwall. Flames engulfed the partly 13th-century building at around 11 am on Thursday, 24 March. It is believed the fire may have started in a chimney, with winds off the sea helping spread it throughout the pub. No one was hurt in the incident but the roof collapsed and local residents were advised to stay indoors until firefighters brought the blaze under control. James Staughton, managing director of St Austell brewery, owner of the pub, has resolved to restore the building. |
