Past chairman of the All Party Parliamentarian Beer Group John Grogan has been named the group’s Beer Drinker of the Year.

Grogan, formerly Labour MP for Selby, stepped down from Parliament at the last election. The award recognises his extensive campaigning for the causes of beer and pubs.

The All Party Parliamentarian Beer Group also honoured Dr David Long, former brewing director and later acting chief executive of the British Beer and Pubs Association, with a lifetime achievement award for his 30 years’ service to the industry.
