Boston Beer Company, producer of the Samuel Adams range, once again tops the list of leading US craft brewers, according to figures released by the Brewers Association.

The craft brewers’ ranking is based on sales volume and sees Boston Beer ahead of second placed Sierra Nevada, with New Belgium in third. Three new breweries break into the top 50: Oskar Blues in Colorado, Saint Arnold in Texas and Bear Republic in California.

The table covers all small (producing fewer than 2 million barrels a year), independent and traditional brewers in the USA.

The Brewers Association has also released its ranking for brewers of all sizes. Anheuser-Busch InBev, the maker of Budweiser, remains the largest producer, ahead of Miller Coors and Pabst.
