Pub Closures Continue Apace
News: April 2010
The latest figures released by the British Beer & Pub Association show that pub closures continue to blight the industry.
Over the six months from June to December 2009, the BBPA claims an average of 39 pubs a week closed across the UK, with Yorkshire and London the hardest hit.
Nationally, the net number of open pubs fell by 1,013, with 1,566 pub closing and only 553 opening for business.
