News: February 2010

Following plans to appeal by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is to re-consider its recent verdict on the impact of pub companies in the market place.

CAMRA’s appeal is now to be delayed until August to give the OFT time to take further evidence, through open consultation, before reaching a final decision.

CAMRA’s complaint is that pub companies are indulging in anti-competitive behaviour in the UK pub market, resulting in higher prices and less choice for the consumer, and under-investment in pubs.
