Free beer is on offer to willing blood donors in the town of Tacoma, Washington, USA.

As an incentive to bring in more donors, anyone over the age of 21 who gives a pint of blood via Cascade Regional Blood Services receives a voucher for a pint of beer, redeemable at a number of local bars and restaurants. However, donors must until four hours after the blood service closes to cash in their beer token.

The ‘pint-for-pint’ concept has been hailed as a success and may now be rolled out in other parts of Washington state.
