Lovibonds on Sale at Home
News: December 2009
The collapse of off-licence chain First Quench has had a positive result for at least one small British brewing company.
Lovibonds in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, is based in the rear of a building that was once home to a shop run by the original Lovibonds brewery, which closed in the 1960s. The front of the premises is taken by a Wine Rack shop, until recently part of the First Quench group.
When administrators at First Quench began offloading outlets, the shop – in Henley’s Market Place – was acquired by a new group and, for the first time, after years of trying, Lovibonds beers are now on sale in the store.
