News: December 2009

Marston’s has reported increased market share for its cask and premium bottled ale brands.

The company’s latest preliminary results show own-brewed beer volumes rising 8% (premium ales growing by 26%), although the performance of the business as a whole is less positive, with operating profit down 5.7% on the previous year to £147.4 million.

Marston’s plans to open 60 new, large, food-led pubs over the next three years, with 15 new pubs opening in 2010.
