The Campaign for Real Ale has revealed its shortlist for its Pub of the Year title.

The four pubs are:

The Royal Oak, Wantage, Oxfordshire
The Crown, Worthington, Greater Manchester
The Royal Oak, Friday Street, West Sussex
Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

To reach this stage, the finalists have won branch and regional awards, impressing judges who scored each pub on a variety of factors, including welcome, service, atmosphere, customer mix, décor and the quality of cask ale on sale.

The national winner will be announced in February 2010.
