Wells & Young’s new cask ale font has been lauded in a major wholesaler’s trade awards.

The novel dispense unit, which frames a handpull inside a chrome arch that is inscribed with the words ‘cask beer’, was introduced for Bombardier bitter in April this year.

The unit stands a foot tall, in a bid to compete with giant lager fonts that dominate most pub bars, and the Bombardier artwork is backlit. Wells & Young’s claims the font has boosted sales of Bombardier by 20%.

The unit has earned the company the title of 'Most Innovative Supplier' in the WaverlyTBS Suppliers’ Awards, which recognizes contributions made by the wholesaler’s partner businesses in the drinks sector.
