News: November 2009

Stella Artois and Stella 4% are the star performers in the latest British off-sales chart, according to the Beer Report 2009 published by the trade newspaper Off Licence News.

The chart, compiled by data experts Nielsen, shows Stella as the leading take-home beer brand, heading off a challenge from Foster’s, which has claimed the number two spot from Carling. Stella Artois 4% is the big climber in the table and is now placed twelfth.

Lager continues to dominate the statistics, with the first ale in the list John Smith’s Extra Smooth, at number nine. However, ale sales are holding up well overall, the report reveals.
