Broughton Collects Historical Characters

Scottish Borders brewery Broughton Ales has targeted the Christmas gift market with a new pack containing nine of its bottled beers.
The pack is named Nine True Men and One Strong Woman, to reflect the historical characters associated with each of the beers inside – Greenmantle Ale, Scottish Oatmeal Stout, Merlin’s Ale, Old Jock Ale, Black Douglas, The Ghillie, Excise Man’s 80/-, Champion Double Ale and Border Gold Organic Ale.
The one woman referred to is Mary, Queen of Scots, who features on the label of Border Gold.
