To convert from ABW (Alcohol by Weight) to ABV (Alcohol by Volume), multiply by 1.25.

Example: a beer that is 4% ABW x 1.25 = 5% ABV


To convert from ABV (Alcohol by Volume) to ABW (Alcohol by Weight), multiply by 0.8.

Example: a beer that is 5% ABV x 0.8 = 4% ABW
